GCRA Competitive Tryouts - 2026-2027 Season

Registration for the 2026-2027 Gloucester-Cumberland Ringette Association (GCRA) Competitive Tryout Season is now open.

GCRA will conduct evaluations in accordance with Ringette Ontario policies and guidelines. Athletes and families are encouraged to review all relevant information to understand the tryout process, selection criteria, and program commitments.

🧒 Underage Athletes

Athletes wishing to try out as an underage player must comply with the Ringette Ontario Underage Athlete Policy. Please ensure you have reviewed and are compliant with the underage athlete policy available by clicking here.

📝 Registration

👉  - Tryout Registration

• Tryout Fee: $125 per player U14/U16
• Tryout Fee: $90 per player U19

• Payment is completed online at registration

📋 Tryout Eligibility & Club Selection

In order to attend tryouts you must have submitted an intent to ERRA.

Players must indicate their club priority selections during registration.

AA Level

• Skaters: up to 2 associations

• Goalies: up to 3 associations

• Home association = Primary

• Current association = Secondary

A Level

• Up to 3 associations

• Home association = Primary

• Current association = Secondary

• One additional association permitted

🥅 Equipment Requirements

To ensure fair evaluations:

• Tryout jerseys will be provided and must be returned at the end of each tryout/exhibition game

• Only association or neutral pants permitted

• All identifying markings must be removed or covered (e.g. Team ON)

 Players not in compliance may be removed from the ice until corrected.

Attendance Requirements

• Attendance at all sessions is expected

• Arrive and check in 45 minutes prior

**Attendance at the warm-up is encouraged, especially for players who have been off the ice for an extended period. However, the warm-up session is not considered a mandatory tryout session.

Scheduling Conflicts

If trying out for multiple associations, please report conflicts early.

Priority order:

• Home Association

• Current Association

• Other Associations

If GCRA is your primary choice, priority will be given to GCRA sessions.

If GCRA is selected as your priority association, players are required to attend all scheduled tryout sessions to support a complete evaluation.

If GCRA is not your priority association, Ringette Ontario Team Formation Policy requires that players attend at least one (1) tryout session to be considered for a team.

📍 Player Position Selection

Players must select their primary position during registration.

• Choose the position they are most comfortable playing

• Secondary positions are not guaranteed

📊 How Evaluations Work

Evaluations are conducted in accordance with Ringette Ontario guidelines:

• Independent, qualified evaluators

• Multiple evaluators per session

• Assessment based on RO evaluation criteria

• Combination of skills, drills, and game play

• Selections based on evaluation results and program review
